Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • bi-lingual a plus but not required
  • must pass drug test and background check
  • must be authorized to work in the united states

  • class c driver with a minimum of 2 years work experience and a clean driving record

Job Qualifications

  • must possess a class c drivers license (cdl)
  • require two years of experience utilizing an active class c driver's license
  • must possess an acceptable motor vehicle record (mvr) based on hiring standards
  • must meet all department of transportation (dot) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the federal motor carrier (fmc) regulations
  • ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • bi-lingual is a plus but not required
  • basic written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to hook-up and break down sets of trailers requiring an average lift force of 100 pounds
  • required bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items up to 75 pounds
  • ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of the truck
  • ability to follow instructions and complete required training
  • ability to work independently or as a team member

Job Duties

  • operate bobtail trucks
  • perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
  • perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck
  • secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope
  • recoup or repair damaged freight when necessary
  • verify and complete required documentation and reports
  • comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
  • collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain required documentation
  • follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch including delays, arrivals, and equipment problems
  • demonstrate internal and external customer service
  • communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs, solicit additional business, and provide leads to sales for potential new opportunities
  • comply with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
  • perform other duties as required
