Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline distributor that plays a critical role in America's food supply chain. Established with a dedication to providing exceptional service, Performance Foodservice partners with a diverse range of local customers including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company is known for its strong commitment to customer relationships, deploying a team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and various industry experts who work closely with clients to improve operations, enhance menu development, select quality products, and optimize operational strategies. This supportive and inclusive approach helps independent restaurant owners and foodservice operators achieve their business goals and dreams while maintaining impeccable food quality and timely delivery.
Known for its culture of rewards, recognition, and respect, Performance Foodservice fosters a safe and inclusive working environment. The company offers excellent growth opportunities, allowing employees to perform essential work supporting the critical infrastructure of food distribution across the country. Employees receive competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package from day one, including health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Performance Foodservice ensures that every team member contributes purposefully to the company’s success while advancing their professional and personal development within a respectful and diverse workplace.
The CDL-B Driver role is vital in making sure that food and related products reach customers safely, on time, and in the proper condition. Drivers serve as ambassadors of the company, often interacting directly with customers and building lasting, positive relationships that reflect the brand’s commitment to service excellence. This position requires operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight runs. Drivers must adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company guidelines to ensure safety and compliance.
Responsibilities include performing all necessary safety inspections and pre/post-trip checks, maintaining equipment standards, and reporting safety concerns promptly. Drivers must verify freight counts against customer invoices, complete paperwork accurately, and handle loading and unloading tasks, including damage control and documentation. Customer interaction is a key component, requiring verification of deliveries, collecting payments when necessary, and managing product returns securely. Attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork are essential while ensuring that all equipment and trailers are secured at the end of each shift.
This position operates primarily between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, offering competitive hourly pay of $28.84. The role demands physical stamina to lift and maneuver freight, often ranging from 10 to 90 pounds, and proficiency with equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. Candidates must hold a valid CDL-B license, meet state licensing and certification requirements, maintain a clean motor vehicle record, and pass all required drug tests, background checks, and road tests. The ability to secure or hold a current DOT Health Card is mandatory.
Performance Foodservice is committed to equal employment opportunity and maintains policies that support diversity and inclusion in the workforce. The company values each employee’s unique background and is dedicated to providing a workplace free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable laws. This commitment underscores the company’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment where all employees can thrive and contribute to the mission of delivering food safely and efficiently across America.
