We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Class B Driver with a passenger endorsement to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive wage of $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting the essential role this individual plays in supporting the mobility and independence of our senior residents. As a Class B Driver, you will be responsible for safely and reliably transporting residents to scheduled destinations and activities, thus directly contributing to their quality of life and participation in community events. Your role will involve maintaining the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean, in good working order, and compliant with all safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Class B California Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement and at least one year of professional driving experience, preferably with experience driving in a senior care facility setting. Your commitment to safety, professionalism, and excellent customer service will be vital in this position, as you connect with seniors, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued while en route. Beyond driving, you will collaborate closely with administrative staff and transportation coordinators, participating in procedural improvements to continually enhance our transportation program.

Job Requirements

  • Class B CA CDL with passenger endorsement
  • One year professional driving experience
  • Ability to pass background checks including fitness for duty physical and fingerprinting
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination status if required
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Physical ability to safely operate vehicles

Job Qualifications

  • Class B CA CDL with passenger endorsement
  • At least one year of professional driving experience
  • Experience driving for a senior facility is helpful
  • Ability to follow safety and transportation protocols
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Transport residents to regularly scheduled destinations and for scheduled activities as established by the Activities Department
  • Ensure vehicle is clean and ready for use and clean assigned vehicle as needed
  • Maintain facility vehicles in accordance with established standards including completing the Daily Vehicle Check sheet and reporting maintenance and repair issues to the Transportation Coordinator
  • Carry out transportation errands and related tasks as requested by administration
  • Recommend procedural changes regarding transportation programs
