Job Description

US Cargo, a subsidiary of PITT OHIO, stands as a prominent family-oriented transportation company serving customers primarily across Ohio and Pennsylvania. Celebrated for its strong presence in the courier and small package delivery industry, the company is currently broadening its horizons to include Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight services. US Cargo prides itself on unwavering commitments to safety, exceptional customer service, and fostering positive work environments for its employees. With a well-established reputation and a geographic focus on key Midwestern states, US Cargo embraces a culture centered on family values and professionalism.

The available position is for a Class B City Driver, operating out of the Brook Park, Ohio terminal. This role is pivotal because it directly involves the collection and delivery of freight in urban settings, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation services. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at USD 25.56 per hour, reflecting the company’s recognition of the value that experienced, dedicated drivers bring to their operations.

The Class B City Driver role demands a blend of driving expertise and physical ability. The driver will be responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles, typically straight trucks, within hours-of-service regulations, ensuring compliance with federal safety requirements. Beyond driving expertise, the role includes loading and unloading cargo, sometimes using mechanical equipment, securing freight properly to prevent damage during transit, and performing vehicle safety inspections to uphold company and federal standards.

As public safety and regulatory compliance are of utmost importance, the position entails maintaining detailed records such as driver logs and vehicle inspection reports. Drivers will navigate urban routes that require keen attention to traffic conditions and customer interaction skills. The role demands flexibility to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, and securing heavy freight multiple times per day. This makes the position well-suited for physically capable candidates who value a dynamic workday that combines driving with hands-on freight management.

US Cargo promotes a respectful, supportive company culture, embracing diversity and encouraging women and minorities to apply. The team atmosphere and family-oriented values create a work environment where employees feel valued and supported. The company commits to well-maintained equipment and facilities to ensure drivers have safe and reliable tools to perform their jobs effectively.

This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals seeking stable employment with a company that invests in its workforce. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance options, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid holidays. US Cargo’s people-first approach means drivers can expect a respectful work environment that balances productivity with employee well-being.

Joining US Cargo as a Class B City Driver means becoming part of a company dedicated to operational excellence and community focus in a fast-paced, essential role. Drivers will enjoy competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and the satisfaction of contributing to a transportation leader expanding its service offerings with a strong emphasis on safety and customer care.
