The company operates a fleet of vehicles including pump trucks used for transporting bulk oil, under the oversight of a Warehouse Manager who ensures smooth and compliant operation of deliveries.
The Driver - Class "B" position is critical in the supply chain as it involves making daily deliveries using company-provided vehicles. The role requires operating a pump truck, a specialized vehicle for delivering bulk oil products to customers. The driver must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain detailed travel logs, and handle all shipping paperwork and invoices. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and driving skill are all essential for success in this role. Maintaining clean and organized vehicles, representing the company professionally through personal conduct and appearance, and complying with all state, local, and federal driving regulations, including DOT rules, are important responsibilities.
This role requires experience in vehicle operation, particularly with class B vehicles and pump trucks, and the ability to manage logistics documentation accurately. The driver must possess excellent customer service skills, including the ability to handle money and make change, contributing positively to the company's public image. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas driver’s license
- Must have a CDL license with tanker endorsement to operate the pump truck
- Must have one (1) year of verifiable driving experience
- Must have an Air Brake endorsement
- Must have a clear driving record for the previous 3 years
- Must successfully complete a background check and criminal history check
- Must pass a physical, human performance evaluation, and drug test
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Must maintain regular and prompt attendance
- Must have an attitude that supports the company’s goals and values
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs on a continuous basis
- Ability to read and write in English
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must comply with company and OSHA safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- Must have one (1) year of verifiable driving experience
- Must possess a CDL license with tanker endorsement
- Must have Air Brake endorsement
- Must have clear driving record for previous 3 years
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to handle money and make change
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles including pump trucks
- Experience in loading and unloading stock
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations for vehicle operation and bulk oil delivery
Job Duties
- Transporting bulk oil and miscellaneous stock via the pump truck
- Performing pre trip and post trip inspections including checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires, and filling as required
- Recording any malfunctions of equipment on the inspection sheet for supervisor and Safety Manager review
- Loading and unloading trucks manually and using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
- Maintaining daily log sheets including miles and times at each stop
- Maintaining delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgements, recording tracking information, completing driver log and truck performance forms
- Operating the multi-tank system on the trucks
- Following safety measures while filling customer tanks
- Handling money from customers and making change if necessary
- Presenting a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude
- Maintaining safe operation and clean vehicle appearance per company policy and regulations
- Keeping the vehicle clean both externally and internally
- Maintaining a satisfactory attendance record
- Keeping work environment safe and clean by organizing shelves, pallet areas, workstations, and shipping supply areas
- Complying with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations
