Job Description
Core-Mark is a leading distributor specializing in fresh and broadline solutions for the convenience retail industry. Recognized as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods in North America, Core-Mark serves convenience operators across the United States and Canada with an extensive range of products, programs, and solutions. The company is known for its empowerment philosophy—supporting customers, employees, and communities alike. With a steadfast commitment to excellence, Core-Mark is continuously growing and adapting to offer the best services in the food distribution sector. It prides itself on fostering a safe, inclusive, and rewarding work environment where employees feel recognized and respected for their contributions.
This exciting opportunity is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, a position integral to maintaining the strength and reliability of the nation’s food supply chain. The driver plays a crucial role beyond simply transporting goods—they are the face of the company to customers, building lasting relationships through professionalism and dependable service. The position offers competitive pay at $28 per hour, with a schedule providing a four-day workweek Monday through Friday and flexible start times ranging from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Drivers enjoy comprehensive benefits from day one, including health and wellness programs, a stock purchase plan, employer-matched 401K plans, education assistance, paid time off, and additional perks.
As a Delivery Driver for Core-Mark, you will be entrusted with operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drives. Your responsibilities will ensure that food and related products reach customers safely, timely, and undamaged, fully complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. This position demands a dedicated professional who approaches every delivery with meticulous attention to safety and customer service excellence.
The role requires conducting thorough safety checks before and after trips, including inspections of the vehicle and trailer, guaranteeing that equipment meets all safety standards and proactively addressing any required repairs or concerns. Your duties also involve verifying product counts against customer invoices, completing accurate paperwork related to freight, and managing the loading or unloading of goods. In the course of deliveries, you will interact directly with customers, obtaining proper signatures and processing payments when necessary. Secure handling of freight and equipment, maintaining clean conditions in your vehicle and work area, and accurate record-keeping of hours driven in compliance with Federal DOT and company regulations are also critical functions of this role.
Core-Mark values teamwork and expects drivers to collaborate with departments across the organization, assisting with various tasks to best support company objectives. Drivers must be physically able to load, unload, and stack products using hand-lifts, two-wheelers, lift gates, or other equipment. Products typically weigh between 10 and 35 pounds but can sometimes range up to 90 pounds, depending on location. Safety hazards must be reported immediately to ensure a safe working environment for all.
This position is a chance to join an industry leader that not only provides competitive wages and excellent benefits but also establishes a culture where employees are empowered and appreciated. At Core-Mark, your work supports the vital flow of consumer goods to communities across North America, contributing to the convenience retail industry's success and sustainability. Candidates must be 21 or older, hold a valid CDL-A license, and meet all state licensing or certification requirements. A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the past three years and a valid or securable DOT Health Card are also required. The role provides opportunities for growth, making it an ideal position for individuals who value stability, professional development, and meaningful contributions in a fast-paced, essential industry.
