Performance Foodservice is a leading broadline foodservice distributor dedicated to serving a diverse range of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. As part of Performance Food Group (PFG), the company distinguishes itself by not only delivering high-quality products but also by fostering strong community ties through a team of dedicated sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts. This collaborative team works closely with customers, offering expert advice aimed at enhancing their operations, innovating menu development, assisting with product selection, and streamlining operational strategies. The goal is to empower independent restaurant owners and foodservice providers to achieve their business ambitions while ensuring the delivery of delicious and fresh food products across every order.

Performance Foodservice exemplifies a workplace culture committed to inclusivity, safety, and respect. The company values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristics as stipulated by applicable laws. This commitment is reflected in their adherence to EEO policies, the "EEO is the Law" poster and supplement, as well as their Pay Transparency Policy Statement. Through these efforts, Performance Foodservice creates a supportive and rewarding work environment where employees are recognized and respected for their contributions.

The Shuttle Driver role is an essential position within Performance Foodservice, focused on the logistics and transportation side of the business. This position plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth flow of goods by transporting empty trailers from one location to another and delivering fully loaded trailers to designated shuttle yard and domicile locations. Working primarily on inter- and intrastate routes, Shuttle Drivers operate tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

The shift schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday, with a typical start time of 4 pm and end time at 11 pm, though exact hours may vary depending on the route. The starting pay is competitive at $25.34 per hour, and there is a sign-on bonus of $5,000 available based on the candidate's experience. Drivers benefit from a safe and inclusive working environment that rewards performance and fosters professional growth. This role not only supports critical components of America’s food distribution system but also offers opportunities for career development within a highly regarded national company.

Shuttle Drivers are responsible for a wide range of tasks including pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of vehicles and trailers, ensuring all freight is properly loaded and secured, adhering strictly to all DOT and company safety guidelines, and maintaining thorough and accurate records. Effective communication is key, as drivers frequently interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues, always maintaining a professional demeanor. In addition to their primary duties, Shuttle Drivers participate in general housekeeping tasks to keep equipment and loading areas clean and operate safely within team settings to contribute to the overall success of the company. This role requires both physical capability and attention to detail, including the safe handling and movement of freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds.

With Performance Foodservice’s extensive benefits package—including day one health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K matching, education assistance, and paid time off—this position offers a comprehensive employment experience that supports both professional and personal well-being. Candidates who bring experience, a commitment to safety, and a customer-focused attitude will find a rewarding career path with ample opportunity to grow and develop within the company.
