The role of Shuttle Driver at US Foods offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this dynamic company. As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of trucks to and from remote dispatch sites. This role demands a high level of responsibility and attention to safety regulations to maintain the integrity of the distribution process. You will be expected to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm that equipment is in proper working condition. Additionally, you may sometimes be called upon to fulfill Backhaul or Delivery Driver duties, providing a versatile and engaging work experience.

This position operates on a Sunday through Thursday schedule with a starting time of 6pm, ideal for those comfortable working overnight shifts and in varying weather conditions. The starting pay rate is competitive, reaching up to $30.16 per hour plus an additional $0.80. Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid CDL Class A with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
  • Doubles endorsement required
  • Comfortable working overnight
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
  • Doubles endorsement required and 6 months driving with doubles endorsements preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Comfortable working overnight
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to and from remote dispatch sites
  • May be called upon to perform duties of Backhaul or Delivery Driver
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
  • Work overnight shifts Sunday through Thursday starting at 6pm
  • Operate manual transmission vehicles when required
  • Maintain compliance with safety and DOT regulations
  • Communicate effectively in English for reporting and understanding highway traffic signs
