The role’s responsibilities focus heavily on safety, proper inspection procedures, route adherence, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and trailers. Drivers conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to comply with DOT rules and company safety standards, report any safety hazards or necessary repairs, follow all established safe driving policies, and ensure freight is properly secured and documented. They are tasked with executing hook and unhook trailer procedures safely, managing paperwork and route documentation, parking and securing equipment appropriately, and handling any damaged goods or customer returns properly. Additionally, drivers perform routine housekeeping duties at the loading dock and trailer areas and support other related operations as needed.
