Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Work required third shift schedule Sunday - Thursday nights with variable schedules
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card or ability to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight weighing approximately 60 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- 12 plus months of commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL A with doubles endorsement
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail in vehicle and freight inspections
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Report all safety issues or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch
- Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
- Ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer and complete required paperwork
- Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter log according to federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
- Perform other related duties as assigned
