Job Description

PFG Customized Distribution is a leading provider in the food distribution sector, specializing in meeting the unique needs of some of America’s most recognized national chain restaurants. These include well-known brands such as Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday's, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. The company prides itself on delivering customized attention with a centralized point of contact for product lines, menu changes, and account coordination. Serving customers across the U.S. and in more than 40 countries, PFG Customized Distribution plays a pivotal role in the food supply chain by ensuring timely and efficient delivery of food products to its diverse client base. The organization is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful work culture that celebrates rewards and recognition while offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits from day one.

The position of Driver, Dedicated Backhaul, is critical within PFG Customized Distribution’s logistics and transportation operations. This role involves operating tractor-trailers (day cab or sleeper), tandem trailers, or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes. These routes may include local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) trips with possible layovers, shuttle routes, and overnight or drive-and-drop schedules. The driver is entrusted with transporting logistics loads and food or non-food products safely and punctually, always adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Beyond driving responsibilities, this position demands strong customer service and communication skills, as drivers are representatives of the company who establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers. The role also includes verifying load accuracy, inspecting paperwork and product quality, and ensuring smooth coordination with supervisors, vendors, and warehouse personnel. The Driver is expected to complete all required documentation reliably and support company goals by executing additional assigned tasks as necessary. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $170 per shuttle plus a per diem of $22.50 per day, a schedule from Sunday to Thursday with dispatch times starting at noon or earlier, and a $7,500 sign-on bonus applicable under certain terms. Successful candidates will have opportunities for growth within a reputable company known for its commitment to employee development, safety, and wellness.
