Job Description

Core-Mark is a leading distributor specializing in fresh and broadline solutions tailored for the convenience retail industry, making it a pivotal player in North America's consumer goods market. With a strong commitment to empowering its customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has distinguished itself as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods across the United States and Canada. The company offers an extensive range of products, programs, and solutions designed to support convenience operators, ensuring efficiency and excellence in supply chain and distribution services.

This role of Shuttle Driver is integral to the operational success of Core-Mark’s logistics and distribution network. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transport of empty trailers to company warehouse locations and delivery of full trailers back to designated domicile or shuttle yard sites. The position demands a high level of professionalism, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with customers, vendors, and team members. Operating various vehicle types including tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, the driver plays a key role in ensuring that distribution processes flow smoothly and efficiently.

Offering a competitive salary of up to $75,000 per year, this full-time role is scheduled from Sunday through Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, providing stability and work-life balance for employees. Core-Mark emphasizes a safe and inclusive work environment complemented by a culture that values rewards, recognition, and respect. Its benefits package begins from day one with health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off among many others.

The Shuttle Driver role also requires a dedication to safety and regulatory compliance. Drivers conduct thorough inspections of equipment before and after trips, adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and maintain precise records related to hours of service. Safety is paramount, and the position involves reporting and responding appropriately to any safety issues or hazards. Moreover, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for handling freight securely, performing loading and unloading duties, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the equipment and work areas.

Core-Mark seeks candidates with a valid CDL A license including doubles and triples endorsement, who are at least 21 years old and hold a clean motor vehicle record. The role requires physical capability to lift and move varying weights of product cases or freight, highlighting the need for both physical fitness and operational expertise. Candidates must reside in Phoenix, AZ, and successfully pass pre-employment drug and road tests, alongside maintaining or acquiring a valid DOT Health Card.

Joining Core-Mark means becoming part of an industry leader committed to growth, opportunity, and comprehensive employee support. The Shuttle Driver is a critical member of the team, ensuring the reliable delivery of goods that underpin America’s food distribution system, contributing directly to the company's mission and customer satisfaction.
