The Shuttle Driver position at Cheney Brothers represents a vital role within the company's operations as it directly supports the efficient transportation and movement of goods across warehouse and shuttle yard locations. This full-time role involves working predominantly the Sunday through Thursday night shift, including occasional Fridays for special deliveries, with dispatch times scheduled between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. In this position, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for towing tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of empty and full trailers loaded with various products essential to the food distribution process. The individual in this role must comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, carry out mandated safety inspections, and maintain meticulous records related to hours of service and vehicle safety. The Shuttle Driver not only handles logistical operations but also serves as a frontline representative of Cheney Brothers by communicating professionally with customers, vendors, and team members to maintain smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
