This particular role is for a CDL-A Driver within Performance Foodservice, offering a competitive average yearly income of $80,000 or more, with additional quarterly safety bonus opportunities. The position follows a 5-day workweek from Monday through Saturday, with no work required on Sundays; days off vary, requiring flexibility. Depending on business demands, there may be team routes and overnight layovers. Dispatch hours range from 12 AM to 5 AM, with typical shifts lasting about 10 hours involving ramp work.
The CDL-A Driver plays an essential role in the food supply chain by ensuring the timely, safe delivery of food and food-related products. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks for local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and drive-and-drop routes. The driver must adhere to strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while maintaining professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Performance Foodservice supports its drivers through competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more. The company offers ample growth opportunities, recognizing the critical role its drivers hold in America's food distribution system. The work environment prioritizes safety and inclusivity, providing a supportive culture where employees are encouraged and acknowledged for their contributions.
