Job Description
CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) is a reputable logistics company dedicated to achieving universal prosperity for its Customers, Company, Team Members, and the Communities it serves. With a focus on utilizing the latest technology, CCFS ensures quality service and on-time delivery across the Western and Central United States. The company’s operations are built on a foundation of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, making it a premier choice for freight transportation and logistics solutions. CCFS takes pride in fostering a work environment that encourages growth, safety, and teamwork, inviting qualified professionals to join their mission-driven team and prosper together.
The available position is for a Class A Route Delivery Driver based in Missoula, MT, within the non-exempt employment category. This role primarily involves operating a company-owned commercial motor vehicle to transport freight safely and efficiently to designated customer locations and terminals. The driver is responsible for adhering to company policies and government regulations, ensuring all freight is handled with the utmost care, and maintaining accurate documentation for shipments. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with a 6 AM start time, offering a consistent workweek and a competitive pay rate of $31 per hour.
As a Class A Route Delivery Driver at CCFS, candidates will experience a dynamic role that goes beyond mere driving. They will be integral to the supply chain, ensuring the timely delivery and pickup of freight while engaging in hands-on tasks such as unloading, sorting, palletizing, and reloading a variety of cargo items. Using mechanical aids when necessary, drivers must handle freight weighing up to 2,500 pounds and carry loads up to 40 pounds across short distances, demonstrating physical endurance and attention to safety protocols. Furthermore, they will perform critical pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee the operational safety of their assigned vehicles.
Ideal candidates for this position will have a valid Class A CDL, be at least 21 years of age, and possess at least one year of commercial driving experience. CCFS emphasizes a strong safety record; therefore, applicants should have no DUI or DWI offenses within the past three years and no more than three traffic violations during the same period. Additionally, candidates must hold or be willing to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, with renewal costs reimbursed by the company. This requirement ensures that drivers are qualified to handle specialized freight, expanding the scope of service they can deliver to customers.
In addition to the technical and physical demands of the job, the role requires individuals capable of performing various manual tasks essential to commercial freight transportation. These tasks include operating vehicle mechanisms such as fifth wheel release levers and pintle hooks, hooking and unhooking commercial combinations, raising and lowering landing gear, securing safety chains, maneuvering freight with mechanical aids, and maintaining vehicle fluid levels such as oil and coolant. The job environment may vary, requiring adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence regardless of weather or road conditions.
Working at CCFS entails more than just a job – it offers a career with comprehensive benefits, including medical, vision, dental, supplemental, and life insurance plans. Employees also enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, paid community volunteer time, and a 401k retirement plan, underlining the company’s commitment to the well-being and professional growth of its team members. This comprehensive benefits package, combined with competitive compensation and a structured work schedule, makes the Class A Route Delivery Driver position an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers seeking stability and career advancement within the transportation industry.
