Job Description
PFG Customized Distribution is a leading name in the food distribution sector, known for catering to some of America’s most recognized national chain restaurants, including Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday’s, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. The company specializes in providing customized attention and acts as a centralized contact for product lines, menu changes, and account coordination. They serve a broad customer base across the United States and extend their reach to more than 40 countries worldwide. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, PFG Customized Distribution plays an essential role in the food supply chain.
As an established entity in the food service and distribution industry, PFG Customized Distribution offers competitive pay and benefits, including day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more. The company emphasizes growth opportunities, safe and inclusive work environments, and a culture built on rewards, recognition, and respect.
The CDL-A Driver position at PFG Customized Distribution is critical to the country’s food supply chain. The delivery drivers not only ensure that customer products arrive on time and in excellent condition but also represent the company by building lasting relationships with customers. This role involves driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes including intrastate, interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Drivers are responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products safely, following all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
This position requires a mix of solo and team routes with out-of-state layovers twice per week. The trucks and equipment provided are newer models, all automatic with ramp work and touch freight, managing breakdown mixed pallets. Drivers must have an interstate license without K restrictions and must comply with all safety standards and DOT regulations consistently.
The driver’s duties encompass performing thorough safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, conducting count checks of freight and ensuring documentation is completed accurately. The role demands securing freight properly at all times, unloading damaged goods and customer returns, maintaining clean trailers, and adhering to strict record-keeping and hours-of-service requirements. Drivers act professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring questions and concerns are addressed timely and effectively.
Overall, this role offers not only a competitive weekly wage with bi-weekly payment schedules but also substantial benefits, job stability, and meaningful work supporting America’s essential food distribution system. The position provides a rewarding career for qualified drivers seeking to be part of a respected company with opportunities for growth and a supportive working environment.
