This specific job opening is for a Class A Hazmat Tanker Shuttle Driver position based in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour. The work schedule is designed for the night shift, Monday through Friday, with typical dispatch times between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, ensuring weekends off and the benefit of being home every night. Weekly pay and a consistent route provide reliability and financial stability for the driver.

The Class A Hazmat Tanker Shuttle Driver role is focused on the safe and efficient operation of Class A commercial vehicles on scheduled linehaul routes. The driver will be responsible for transporting less-than-truckload (LTL) freight between terminals and customer locations, often involving drop-and-hook trailer exchanges with no-touch freight. The job includes performing thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance. Additionally, the driver must strictly observe timely pickups and deliveries while upholding a strong safety commitment. Handling of hazardous materials requires full adherence to safety regulations, including DOT, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), HazMat, and company policies. Maintaining accurate transportation documentation such as driver logs and trip reports is essential. Effective communication with the dispatch and operations teams is required to guarantee operational efficiency and schedule coordination.

Job Requirements

  • FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
  • minimum 1 year CDL experience within the past 3 years
  • no more than 3 moving violations or at-fault accidents within past 3 years
  • no DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations within past 5 years
