The position of Class A Driver with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement in Santa Fe Springs, CA, offers an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic company. This role is essential in supporting the vital supply chain of dry ice logistics for Airgas, where quality, reliability, and service are key business drivers. The employment is full-time with a competitive compensation rate of $36.50 per hour. Candidates will enjoy the benefits of a stable schedule, typically working 50 hours weekly from Tuesday through Saturday starting at 6:00 PM, with the advantage of being home daily.

The driver will operate a fleet that includes CDL A Tanker trucks, CDL A Dry Van trucks, and CDL B box trucks, supporting a range of tasks from delivering dry ice to handling CO2 cylinder pickups and deliveries. This role demands collaboration with warehouse teams to safely load and unload products, operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintain accurate delivery manifests. Exceptional customer service is also a vital component, as the driver interacts regularly with customers to confirm deliveries and provide feedback to improve service.

Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • 2 years of verifiable CDL A experience in the last 5 years
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are required with a current X endorsement
  • No automatic restrictions on license
  • Must be able to drive manual transmission trucks
  • Must maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card and endorsements
  • No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
  • No driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances in the last 7 years
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
  • Must be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • 2 years of verifiable CDL A driving experience within the last 5 years
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements with current X endorsement
  • Ability to operate manual transmission trucks
  • Ability to maintain required driver’s license, medical card, and endorsements
  • Clean driving record with limited traffic convictions and at-fault accidents
  • Ability to work drug-free
  • Physical ability to lift 75 lbs regularly and move over 125 lbs with equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • 5 years of tanker driving experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate CDL A Dry Van and CDL B Box trucks to deliver dry ice to customers
  • Drive CDL A tanker trucks for CO2 pickups and deliveries
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to operate forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading dry ice
  • Confirm deliveries with customers and ensure piece counts match load manifests
  • Collect and return empty dry ice boxes to plants or branches
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety inside the truck
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Secure cargo properly before and during transit
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate customer feedback to management
