Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A with doubles endorsement preferred but willing to train
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Possess or obtain valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases weighing 10-90 pounds
- Strong communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Six months or more commercial driving experience preferred
- Valid CDL-A with doubles endorsement preferred but willing to train
- Meets all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Must be 21 years or older
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past three years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attains or has valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight up to 90 pounds
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Team player attitude
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
- Reports all safety issues and repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Ensures all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
- Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas
- Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility and completes necessary paperwork
- Unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
