Job Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Two or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer within the last five years preferred
Valid Class A CDL certification and license
Some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsement
License or operator’s permit held for at least the three years immediately prior to application
Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements
Proficient computer usage skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Math skills for calculating load size and volume or weight measurements
Good organization and record keeping skills
Ability to read, write and speak English

Job Duties

Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations in a safe and timely manner
Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel
Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns
Load and unload product as required at designated stops, may include stocking and ordering of product
Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to supervisor or manager
Ensure and perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment and maintain a clean vehicle
Complete all daily paperwork, maintain log and trip records according to company policy and DOT guidelines
Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure
Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
Use company supported applications or systems properly
Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or others
