Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, stands as a leading distributor within the convenience retail industry, recognized for delivering fresh and broad-line solutions to its customers. As a part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has impressively generated over $23 billion in revenue, showcasing its expansive reach across the United States and Canada through a robust network of distribution centers. The company's commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities has been central to its sustained growth and leadership in the marketplace. Core-Mark fosters an inclusive, safe, and respectful work culture, emphasizing rewards and recognition, which contributes to employee satisfaction and engagement.

The role of a Driver, Hourly CDL-A, is integral to Core-Mark's mission of supporting America’s food distribution system. This position involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks to deliver food and food-related products safely and timely on various routes including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. Drivers act as the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers through professional communication and reliable service. The position offers a competitive pay structure, with a minimum weekly pay of $1384.62 when minimum weekly requirements are met, alongside benefits that include health and wellness from day one, 401K employer matching, an employee stock purchase plan, education assistance, and paid time off. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with a four-day workweek and dispatch times between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.

This role demands rigorous adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to maintain safety standards, including conducting thorough pre and post-trip inspections and maintaining accurate freight and delivery documentation. The driver’s responsibilities extend beyond driving, involving loading and unloading goods, performing damage control checks, securing products, collecting payments as necessary, and keeping delivery equipment and work areas clean and organized. The position is also physically demanding, requiring the ability to hand-lift freight cases generally ranging from 10 to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 60 to 90 pounds using equipment such as dollies and lift gates.

Core-Mark emphasizes equal employment opportunity, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace free from discrimination. The company supports a culture where employees are respected and valued regardless of race, color, gender, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. This commitment enhances the work environment and contributes to the strong reputation Core-Mark holds within the industry. The role provides significant opportunities for career growth and development within a company dedicated to essential work that bolsters the nation’s food supply chain.
