The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is vital to the sustainability and efficiency of the food supply chain in America. This position involves delivering food products and related items to customers using tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including local, intrastate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop. Drivers ensure that goods arrive on schedule, in excellent condition, and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. As the frontline representatives of the company, delivery drivers build and maintain strong relationships with customers, embodying Core-Mark’s commitment to professionalism and customer service. The role requires adherence to rigorous safety standards, including pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, cargo securing, and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws. Additionally, delivery drivers manage logistical paperwork, handle customer payments where required, and perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties related to their vehicles and workspace. Job Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Minimum of 6 months route delivery experience in a commercial motor vehicle
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience

- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights
- Product weights typically range from 10-35 pounds and can be up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on location
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of loaded products
- Completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
- Performs daily record of hours of service and enters log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean
- Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned
