Job Description
Core-Mark is a leading marketer of consumer goods specializing in fresh and broadline solutions for the convenience retail industry across the United States and Canada. Established as an industry leader, Core-Mark empowers customers, employees, and communities by providing a comprehensive range of products, programs, and innovative solutions tailored to convenience store operators. The company’s commitment to inclusivity, safety, and respect is reflected in its culture which rewards performance and recognizes contributions from all its team members. Operating with a strong emphasis on equal employment opportunities, Core-Mark ensures a work environment free from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
The position offered is a Food Service Delivery Driver role, which plays a critical role in America’s food distribution system. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Delivery drivers at Core-Mark are more than just transporters of goods; they are vital representatives and the face of the company, ensuring that customers receive their products on time, in excellent condition, and with professional customer service. The role involves driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck over intrastate and interstate routes which can include local, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. The drivers are responsible for the safe and timely transportation and unloading of food and food-related products while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
Core-Mark’s delivery drivers are integral to maintaining the integrity of the food supply chain by performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of their vehicles and trailers. They must identify and report any safety issues immediately and adhere strictly to DOT safety and driving standards. Additionally, drivers verify the accuracy of delivered items, unload and transport goods to designated customer storage locations, handle customer returns, and ensure proper documentation and signatures are obtained at the point of delivery. They also manage daily records such as hours of service logs in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Beyond the operational responsibilities, Core-Mark fosters a safe and inclusive work environment where drivers are valued team members expected to contribute beyond their route tasks by performing general housekeeping duties in the loading dock and their vehicles. This position offers extensive benefits including Day 1 Health & Wellness coverage, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching contributions, educational assistance, and paid time off. These benefits support employee wellness and career growth while rewarding dedication and reliability.
Accepting this role means becoming part of a growing company dedicated to providing essential services to the convenience retail sector while enjoying competitive pay and a supportive, inclusive workplace culture. Drivers cultivate lasting relationships with customers, helping to ensure satisfaction and repeat business, making this a meaningful and essential position within the company’s operations.
