This position is for a Route Driver who will play a crucial role within Core-Mark’s food goods supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and related products. Earn between $75,000 and $85,000 annually with an opportunity to work Monday through Friday with one overnight shift per week. The role is based in Glenwillow, OH, with dispatch hours between 4am and 6am, welcoming walk-in applicants for immediate interview and onboarding assistance. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six plus months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A
- Must be 21 plus years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases and freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum six months of commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and road test
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and company policies
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to operate tractor-trailers and straight trucks safely and efficiently
- Capability to perform manual lifting and operation of delivery equipment
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately report all safety hazards
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Check and complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and/or secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
