This position is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience behind the wheel of tractor trailers or straight trucks, undertaking intrastate and interstate routes. These routes cover local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) journeys, shuttle runs, and overnight assignments, ensuring consistent and timely delivery of various food and related products to a wide customer base. The role also emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, underscoring a culture of responsibility, safety, and professionalism.

Employees in this role benefit from a competitive salary ranging between $85,000 and $100,000 annually after completing training, coupled with a Monday through Saturday work schedule with varying shift times that include dispatches between 10 pm and 5 am. Performance Foodservice also fosters an inclusive and respectful workplace where employees are recognized and rewarded, contributing to an environment that values teamwork and individual growth. The Driver Trainee will engage extensively with customers, vendors, and colleagues, consistently delivering excellent customer service and performing duties with the utmost care and accuracy. The position presents hands-on experience as well as growth opportunities within a key sector of America’s food distribution system.

Furthermore, Performance Foodservice offers comprehensive benefits including day-one health and wellness coverage, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, all contributing to the company’s dedication to employee well-being and career development.
