This role as a Tractor Trailer Driver involves the safe and efficient transportation of products from SYGMA's warehouse to various customer locations. The driver will be responsible for adhering to assigned routes and ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in accordance with customer invoices and company standards. Key responsibilities include unloading products either by hand or using equipment such as hand carts, maintaining product quality by following strict food safety protocols, and managing paperwork including inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and delivery logs. The driver will also be tasked with handling damaged goods and customer returns, transporting them back to the warehouse. An important part of the job is communicating effectively with both customers and management to report any issues related to routes, equipment, or products. This position demands a candidate who can work a flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed. Safety awareness and adherence to DOT and Hazmat guidelines are critical components of this job, and the driver must be capable of safely operating all assigned equipment and handling various weather and traffic conditions. This role requires physical stamina as it includes frequent lifting, climbing, and moving products and equipment.
