Cheney Brothers is steadfast in its mission to back its customers by investing in the growth and well-being of its people, creating an environment where talent can thrive and make a tangible impact.

This role is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, a critical position within Cheney Brothers' operation. Drivers maintain a vital role in the food supply chain by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products across intrastate and interstate routes. The position offers a 5-day workweek with routes starting early in the morning, specifically between 4 am to 5 am, and provides a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually. Following training, drivers are assigned dedicated routes which promote consistency and efficiency.

The driver’s responsibilities extend beyond transportation; they represent the company's face to customers, fostering strong and lasting relationships. These delivery drivers operate various trucks, including tractor trailers and straight trucks, and they must comply strictly with Department of Transportation regulations. The role involves performing pre-trip and post-trip safety checks, inspecting vehicles and cargo to ensure all safety standards are met, and immediately reporting any safety concerns or necessary repairs. In addition, drivers are responsible for validating delivery accuracy through inventory checks, proper documentation, and obtaining customer signatures. Handling cash or checks during deliveries, managing returns, and ensuring secure transport and loading practices are key parts of the job.

Driver safety and regulatory compliance are paramount, requiring familiarity with DOT health card requirements, clean driving records, and passing road and drug tests. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move product cases of varying weights—ranging generally from 10 to 90 pounds—and proficient use of equipment such as hand trucks and lift gates. The job also includes general housekeeping duties related to maintaining cleanliness and order in the truck and loading areas.

Cheney Brothers emphasizes a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture that rewards dedication and teamwork. Employees benefit from health and wellness programs effective from day one, employee stock purchase plans, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
