Job Description

Core-Mark, a Fortune 150 company and part of Performance Food Group, stands as a leading force in the fresh and broad-line supply solutions to the convenience retail industry. With a robust revenue exceeding 23 billion dollars, Core-Mark operates numerous distribution centers across the United States and Canada, offering an extensive range of products, programs, and services that support convenience stores, retailers, and foodservice providers. The company’s passionate commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities underpins its rapid growth and reputable industry standing. Core-Mark emphasizes a culture rooted in safety, respect, and recognition, creating an inclusive workplace where every team member can thrive and contribute to the company’s ongoing success.

This particular employment opportunity is for a Driver - Hourly position within Core-Mark. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of the food distribution supply chain, as drivers are responsible not only for delivering food and food-related products but also for being the critical face of the company to customers. The position offers competitive compensation starting between $69,000 and $75,000 annually, which includes base hourly pay, component pay, and overtime, all structured within a desirable 4-day workweek schedule (Tuesday through Friday). This schedule supports a strong work-life balance by providing three-day weekends (Saturday through Monday) and a day shift with a 4:00 am start time, ensuring drivers are home daily after their routes.

Core-Mark Drivers are tasked with operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Candidates will be expected to handle responsibilities ranging from load inspections, safety compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, cargo security, delivery verification, and customer interaction. The role involves performing pre- and post-trip safety inspections, ensuring the proper loading and unloading of goods, handling delivery paperwork accurately, and maintaining communication with customers and internal teams. Drivers must also engage in safe driving practices as outlined in company policies and DOT guidelines, report any safety hazards promptly, and maintain clean vehicles and work areas.

The role requires physical activity such as hand-lifting and the use of equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to manage product cases and freight, which can vary in weight and size. Core-Mark offers a supportive environment where employees have access to benefits from day one, including health and wellness programs, stock purchase plans, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. The company promotes career growth opportunities and cultivates a rewarding, respectful culture. These factors, combined with the competitive pay and daily home return, make this driving position an attractive, stable career choice for qualified candidates. Core-Mark is also committed to equal employment opportunity, reinforcing a workplace inclusive of all backgrounds and identities.
