The Driver - Hourly role at Core-Mark plays a vital part in the country’s food supply chain by ensuring that food and food service products are delivered safely, timely, and in good condition. This position involves operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on local and interstate routes while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols. Drivers are the face of Core-Mark to its customers and are responsible for building strong relationships by providing professional and courteous service. The role offers a unique and attractive work schedule, including a four-day work week (Tuesday to Friday), with day shift starting at 4:00 am, a local route allowing drivers to be home daily, and a three-day weekend from Saturday to Monday. With an annual merit increase, first-year pay ranging between $69,000 to $75,000 including base hourly, components, and overtime, this position promises competitive compensation.
The Driver - Hourly carries out essential duties such as pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, loading and unloading products, performing damage checks, handling customer payments, and completing all documentation accurately. They are responsible for securing loads, maintaining cleanliness in the tractor and trailer, and reporting any vehicle deficiencies or safety concerns immediately. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- 6+ months commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A
- must be 21+ years of age
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying size and weight
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- report all safety issues and repairs required
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- perform count check of items and check customer invoices of loaded products
- complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
