Job Description
Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, stands as a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry, recognized for its commitment to delivering fresh and broad-line solutions across the U.S. and Canada. As a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has established a strong market presence with annual revenues exceeding $23 billion, demonstrating robust growth and a dedication to empowering customers, employees, and communities alike. The company prides itself on maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment that fosters a culture of respect, rewards, and recognition, helping it attract and retain talented individuals passionate about supporting America’s food distribution system.
This position is for a Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark, designed to provide vital transportation and delivery services for food and food service products. Our delivery drivers are essential ambassadors of the company, tasked not only with ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods but also with cultivating strong customer relationships that reflect Core-Mark’s reliability and professionalism. The role offers several attractive benefits, including competitive pay with first-year earnings ranging between $69,000 and $75,000 (covering base hourly wage, components, and overtime pay), a four-day workweek from Tuesday to Friday, and consistent home daily schedules.
Drivers start early at 4:00 a.m. and benefit from a stable work-life balance featuring three-day weekends, an annual merit pay increase, and local route assignments. The job demands strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, emphasizing thorough daily vehicle inspections and secure handling of freight. As a driver, you will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip safety checks, verifying delivery items, handling returns, maintaining accurate delivery paperwork, and communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
Beyond driving, this role includes physical tasks such as unloading and loading products, performing damage control checks, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and trailers. The successful candidate must be mechanically minded, safety-conscious, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills, as they will serve as the face of Core-Mark in customer interactions. The role also requires candidates to pass drug screenings, background checks, and road tests, and to possess or obtain a valid DOT health card.
Core-Mark promotes equal employment opportunity ensuring a workplace free from discrimination and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. The company also offers numerous employee benefits like health and wellness options starting from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. This position offers growth opportunities in a meaningful and essential sector that keeps the nation’s food supply flowing smoothly. If you are ready to become part of a dynamic team that values dedication and professionalism, Core-Mark’s delivery driver role offers a rewarding career path with financial stability and personal development.
