The company prides itself on empowering customers, employees, and communities, creating a culture that fosters growth, recognition, and respect. Core-Mark offers a safe and inclusive working environment where associates are provided with numerous opportunities for personal and professional development through frequent training across various formats. They prioritize promoting from within, reinforcing the belief that individual success contributes to the company’s overall achievements.
The Food and Food Service Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of the country’s food supply chain by delivering essential goods to customers safely, timely, and efficiently. Drivers hold the esteemed responsibility of not only transporting food and related products but also representing Core-Mark as the face of the company, thereby fostering long-lasting customer relationships. This position requires a committed CDL-A licensed driver who operates a company-assigned tractor trailer following stringent Department of Transportation regulations and internal safety protocols. Drivers benefit from a consistent Monday to Friday schedule with home daily, a set dispatch time between 4:00 and 6:00 AM, and assigned equipment that is regularly maintained through a consistent maintenance program to ensure reliability and safety.
The delivery drivers at Core-Mark perform a myriad of duties designed to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service. They conduct thorough pre and post-trip safety inspections of tractors and trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Drivers are responsible for carefully counting and verifying inventory against customer invoices, securing freight properly to prevent damage during transit, and unloading goods using provided equipment or manual lifting when necessary. Physical demands include the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds repeatedly and maneuver through delivery ramps and storage areas with agility. Accuracy in paperwork completion, including delivery logs, customer signatures, and freight documentation, is essential. They also handle customer returns and damaged products responsibly, maintain cleanliness and security of equipment and trailers, and participate in routine fueling and maintenance tasks. Beyond these technical tasks, Core-Mark drivers interact professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, reinforcing the company’s values and commitment to excellent service.
Compensation for this role is competitive, with an hourly rate of $29.00, offering considerable benefits from Day 1, including health and wellness programs, a 401K employer matching plan, employee stock purchase options, education assistance, and paid time off. These benefits, combined with a positive and respectful workplace culture and opportunities for career advancement, make the Food and Food Service Delivery Driver position at Core-Mark a highly rewarding career choice for dedicated and hardworking individuals committed to supporting America’s food distribution system.
