As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark boasts over $23 billion in revenue, positioning itself as a major player in the North American food distribution sector. With distribution centers scattered across the United States and Canada, Core-Mark provides an extensive range of products, programs, and solutions designed to meet the diverse needs of convenience retail outlets. This role is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver who plays a vital part in maintaining the integrity of the country's food supply chain. The driver is responsible for operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks, transporting food and food-related products across intrastate and interstate routes. This position offers a competitive pay structure, with an average base pay of $1,500 per week and an attractive $10,000 bonus incentive for drivers with more than one year of commercial driving experience, which is paid out over the course of the first year. The role typically involves working Monday through Friday during early morning dispatch hours from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM, requiring around 45 to 50 hours per week.
As a delivery driver for Core-Mark, the individual is not merely responsible for transporting goods but also acts as the face of the company, building lasting customer relationships through professional and courteous interactions. The position demands strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines, with a strong focus on ensuring the timely and secure delivery of products while maintaining high standards for vehicle and freight safety. Duties include conducting pre- and post-trip safety inspections, verifying freight loads, completing paperwork accurately, and managing loading and unloading activities safely and efficiently.
The driver must be capable of handling equipment such as hand trucks and lift gates and lifting freight, which may range from light to heavier weights, in order to ensure smooth delivery operations. Beyond driving, the role also entails performing general housekeeping duties related to the vehicle and loading areas and logging hours in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. This comprehensive position calls for integrity, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the physical ability to perform the necessary tasks. Core-Mark’s inclusive culture, growth prospects, competitive benefits, and dedication to safety provide a supportive environment for drivers to thrive and contribute meaningfully to America's food distribution system.
