The company prides itself on fostering a safe and inclusive working environment characterized by respect, rewards, and recognition, which enhances employee satisfaction and performance.
The position available is for Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers who play a crucial role in the country’s food supply chain. These drivers are responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products to various customers, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality service and operational excellence. The role involves driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. Drivers are expected to follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations rigorously while maintaining company safety standards.
The employment type for this position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM dispatching times. The weekly base pay averages $1500, complemented by a $10,000 sign-on bonus for drivers with more than one year of commercial driving experience, disbursed incrementally over the first year of employment. Core-Mark not only offers competitive pay but also provides extensive benefits starting on day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous other perks designed to support and enhance employees’ quality of life and professional growth.
Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections of vehicles and trailers, following DOT regulations, maintaining accurate paperwork, interacting professionally with customers, unloading and loading products, and ensuring the secure transport of goods. The role demands physical capability to handle freight ranging from 10 to up to 90 pounds using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates, highlighting the importance of physical fitness and attention to safety standards. Drivers also need to maintain proper communication with supervisors regarding deliveries and concerns such as damaged goods or order discrepancies.
Overall, this position offers a substantial opportunity for individuals seeking stable employment in the logistics and food distribution sectors, with a company that values safety, customer service, and employee development. Core-Mark's commitment to equal employment opportunity reflects its inclusive culture, ensuring fair treatment and respect for all individuals regardless of background.
