This position involves working as a Driver, Hourly CDL-A, a critical role within the company’s food supply chain. The delivery drivers are responsible for ensuring that food and food service products reach customers safely, on time, and in excellent condition. They act as the face of Core-Mark, fostering lasting relationships with clients through professional interaction and dependable service. This is an hourly position with an early start time of 5:00 AM, operating Monday through Friday, and offers a competitive salary of $70,000 per year. The role involves driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes.
Drivers are tasked with adhering to stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while maintaining the safety and security of both cargo and equipment. The job encompasses a variety of activities including performing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, loading and unloading of goods, managing paperwork accurately, and ensuring product integrity during transit. Additionally, drivers communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers, providing accurate information and addressing any issues promptly. The position requires the capability to handle physical demands such as hand-lifting product cases weighing from 10 to 90 pounds and using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1 plus year of commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- must be at least 21 years of age
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- valid DOT health card or ability to obtain one
- ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying size and weight
- availability to work early morning shifts starting at 5:00 AM
- ability to work Monday through Friday
Job Qualifications
- 1 plus year of commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A
- must be 21 plus years of age

- attains or has valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight
Job Duties
- performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to department of transportation (DOT) regulations
- follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- immediately reports all safety hazards
- inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- moves tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- performs damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- verifies delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- collects money where required
- loads customer returns on to trailer and secures trailer doors
- ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
- unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
- completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
- performs other related duties as assigned
