This role is for a Driver, Hourly CDL-A position, which is union-represented and covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The position offers a four-day workweek with shifts varying and dispatch times between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Starting pay during training is $29.00 per hour, with a transition to compensation based on stops, loads, and miles driven, potentially earning up to $85,000 annually.
As a Delivery Driver for Core-Mark, you will serve as a critical link in the food supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers. The role demands professionalism as drivers act as ambassadors of the company, building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include driving tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries, shuttle services, overnight, and drop routes in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Day-to-day duties involve performing rigorous safety inspections before and after trips, ensuring trailers are properly loaded and secured, loading and unloading goods, handling customer returns, and maintaining all required documentation such as delivery records and vehicle logs. Drivers must interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues courteously and efficiently to resolve queries and maintain smooth operations. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle and work areas is essential, alongside following all company and federal safety practices.
Core-Mark values experience; therefore, candidates should have six or more months of foodservice or beverage route delivery experience operating a Class A vehicle or one month if freshly graduated from driving school. Additionally, candidates must hold a valid CDL-A license, meet state licensing requirements, have a clean driving record, and pass drug tests, background checks, and road tests required by the company. The job requires the physical capacity to lift varying product weights and operate necessary delivery equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates safely.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean driving record for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass road test
- 6+ months foodservice or beverage route delivery experience in a Class A vehicle
- 1 month experience for recent driving school graduates
- Possess or able to obtain valid DOT health card
- Ability to lift products weighing from 10 to 90 pounds and safely operate delivery equipment
Job Qualifications

- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money where required
- Loads customer returns on to trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs other related duties as assigned
