Core-Mark is currently seeking skilled and dedicated Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers to join their team. This role is essential to the integrity and efficiency of the country’s food supply chain. Delivery drivers not only ensure that customers receive their products on time and in good condition but also serve as the company’s face by building lasting relationships with customers.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with shifts from 2:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Delivery Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries, including local, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting food and food-related products to customers, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Beyond driving, these professionals perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, handle loading and unloading of freight, verify proper documentation, communicate professionally with customers and colleagues, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards of equipment and work areas. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills are critical for success in this role.

In addition to job duties, Core-Mark emphasizes compliance with all state and federal regulations, including drug testing, background checks, and maintaining a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Drivers must also meet physical requirements necessary for handling product cases of varying weights and use equipment safely to facilitate efficient deliveries.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL-A license and must be at least 21 years old
  • Minimum of 6 months CMV driving experience
  • Meets all state licensing or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for the past three years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass a road test
  • Possess or secure a valid DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases of varying size and weight throughout the shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Valid CDL-A license, must be 21+ years of age
  • At least 6 months of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving experience
  • Meets all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the past 3 years
  • Passes post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Passes road test
  • Has or is able to secure a valid current DOT health card

Job Duties

  • Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards
  • Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Checks and completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
  • Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
  • Collects money where required
  • Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are always locked and secured
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps trailers clear and clean
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
