Offering an extensive array of products, programs, and solutions, the company supports convenience operators in both the U.S. and Canada. Core-Mark prides itself on creating a safe, inclusive working environment that values rewards, recognition, and respect for every team member. The organization emphasizes growth and career development opportunities for its employees, supporting their vital roles in sustaining the country’s food distribution system. Competitive pay and rich benefits are standard, including day one health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more.
The Driver, Hourly CDL-A position at Core-Mark is essential in the company's food service delivery operations and overall supply chain. This role centers around safely driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on various routes—including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop—to deliver and/or unload food and related products to customers. Drivers play a critical role not only by ensuring products arrive intact and on schedule but also by representing Core-Mark to customers through professional interactions that foster lasting relationships. The position offers a bi-weekly component pay of up to $3,600, monthly and annual bonuses, a 4-day workweek, and a start time of 5:00 AM, highlighting the organization’s commitment to work-life balance and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities include conducting thorough safety inspections on vehicles following Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, and managing freight loading and unloading procedures accurately. Drivers are accountable for paperwork management, damage control, collecting payments, and maintaining trailers and trucks in optimal condition. Communication with customers, supervisors, and team members remains integral for problem-solving and smooth operations. Daily records of hours of service must be maintained in compliance with DOT and company policies. Core-Mark seeks CDL-A licensed drivers aged 21 or older with at least one year of commercial driving experience and a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years. Candidates must pass post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks, attain or secure a DOT Health Card, and have the physical capability to move freight of varying weights throughout the shift. This role supports the nation’s food supply system and offers a rewarding and stable career path for qualified drivers dedicated to safety, professionalism, and teamwork.
