The Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is a vital part of the company’s operations and America’s food supply chain. Delivery Drivers are responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers, playing a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships as the face of the company. This position involves starting early in the morning, dispatching from a local HUB, and completing routes that typically involve offloading 10,000 to 12,000 pounds of freight daily using hand trucks or dollies. Drivers handle products shipped in plastic totes or boxes, ensure proper invoice checks, and perform pre- and post-trip inspections.

The role requires strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Drivers perform multiple duties including safety inspections of tractor/truck and trailer, loading and unloading products, verifying deliveries with customers, collecting payments where required, and maintaining accurate paperwork. Additionally, they are responsible for keeping the truck and loading areas clean and secure.

This is a full-time position offering a substantial $10,000 sign-on bonus and a pay structure averaging $85,000 annually, complemented by a monthly performance bonus of up to $500. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with a 6 AM start, covering local routes that allow drivers to be home daily. This role requires a valid CDL-A license, at least six months of commercial driving experience, a clean driving record, and the physical ability to handle freight weighing from 10 pounds up to 90 pounds depending on the location. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 6 or more months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and report any safety issues or repairs needed
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies and immediately report safety hazards
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices
  • Complete all required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as necessary
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan products, and contact supervisors about order removals as per company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas and secure equipment at shift end
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
