Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry, operating as part of a Fortune 150 company with over $23 billion in revenue. Core-Mark specializes in delivering fresh and broad-line solutions to convenience stores across the United States and Canada. The company prides itself on empowering its customers, employees, and communities by providing a comprehensive range of products, programs, and services through an extensive network of distribution centers. Core-Mark values a safe, inclusive, and rewarding work environment, emphasizing growth opportunities, health and wellness benefits from day one, and a culture of respect and recognition.

This position is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, a vital role within the food supply chain. These drivers ensure timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers, representing the company's frontline by building strong, lasting relationships. The role is home daily, involves a Tuesday through Saturday schedule with AM and PM shifts available, and offers competitive compensation up to $95,000 annually. Drivers are responsible for operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, and interstate routes, including shuttle and overnight deliveries. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations through pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle and freight safety standards, and efficiently navigating loading dock operations.

Besides transportation, drivers perform critical tasks such as verifying loads, managing delivery paperwork, collecting payments where required, unloading merchandise, conducting damage assessments, and completing daily service logs. They are essential members of a team that supports America's food distribution system, contributing to the company's reputation for reliability and customer service excellence. The job requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization. Candidates must be prepared to engage professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers while managing the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving freight of varying weights.

Core-Mark fosters a culture that rewards safety-conscious behavior and customer care, with ample opportunities for professional advancement in a growing industry. Employees gain access to substantial benefits such as health and wellness packages starting on the first day, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Committed to equal employment opportunities, Core-Mark ensures an inclusive workplace regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics, aligning with all applicable laws and regulations. This driver position not only offers a stable career pathway in a dynamic company but also plays a critical role in ensuring communities across North America receive the goods they need every day.
