The position of Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark is pivotal in maintaining the strength and reliability of the country’s food supply chain. Drivers play a crucial role by delivering food and related products safely and efficiently to customers, embodying the company’s values and commitment to customer service excellence. This role involves driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on a variety of routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road, shuttle, and drive and drop operations. Drivers are responsible for adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while ensuring all deliveries are made on schedule and in excellent condition. Starting at 5:00 AM and working a four-day week, drivers benefit from competitive pay with bi-weekly earnings that can reach up to $3,600, along with monthly and annual performance bonuses.

This role requires not only technical driving skills but also effective communication with customers, vendors, and team members, building strong relationships and trust. Drivers conduct rigorous safety checks before and after every trip, manage product loading and unloading, verify orders with the customers, and handle paperwork accurately. The responsibility extends to maintaining the cleanliness and security of both the vehicle and freight, performing damage control when necessary, and complying with federal and company requirements relating to hours of service logging and safety standards.
