The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is vital within the food supply chain, as these professionals ensure the efficient and safe delivery of products to customers. This position is a full-time career opportunity with a scheduled workweek from Monday to Friday, typically starting at 4 AM and continuing until the completion of the shift. Delivery drivers at Core-Mark are responsible for operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and drive and drop. Job Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- six months of tractor trailer driving experience
- ability to work Monday to Friday starting at 4 AM
- willingness to perform one to two overnight stays per week
- clean motor vehicle report for last three years
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- pass drug test, criminal background check, and road test
- valid or achievable DOT health card
- physical ability to handle freight weights varying from 10 to 90 pounds
- ability to use two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment for moving freight
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- valid CDL-A license
- six or more months of experience driving tractor trailers
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- valid current DOT health card or ability to secure one
- ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- report all safety issues and repairs required
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
- inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and check customer invoices
- complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer
- drive to and deliver customer orders on predetermined routes
- unload products and transport items to designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks and contact supervisors as needed
- verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
- collect payments where required
- load customer returns and secure trailer doors
- ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
- unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- perform daily record of hours of service and enter in log compliance with Federal DOT and state requirements
- maintain cleanliness in tractor and loading dock areas
- perform additional related duties as assigned
