Job Requirements

High school diploma/GED or equivalent
1 plus years of commercial driving experience
Valid CDL-A license
Must be 21 plus years of age
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Attain or have valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
Immediately reports all safety hazards
Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of loaded products
Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders
Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
Collects money where required
Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
Performs daily record of hours of service and enters log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean
Completes all necessary paperwork and secures equipment at end of shift
Performs other related duties as assigned
