With a robust culture of rewards, recognition, and respect, Core-Mark fosters a safe and inclusive working environment where employees are valued and given opportunities to grow and succeed.
The role of a Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the country’s food supply chain. This position involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, and interstate routes, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. Drivers play a critical role beyond transportation; they serve as company representatives by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products. The position offers competitive compensation with component pay up to $3,600 bi-weekly, monthly and annual bonuses, and a 4-day workweek starting at 5:00 AM, along with comprehensive benefits such as day one health and wellness coverage, 401K employer matching, employee stock purchase plans, education assistance, and paid time off.
The Driver is responsible for thorough pre- and post-trip inspections consistent with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure vehicle and trailer safety. They must adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company safety guidelines, promptly reporting any hazards or equipment issues. Duties include verifying freight counts and conditions, accurately completing delivery documentation, and handling customer interactions professionally. Drivers must load and unload products, secure freight effectively, and manage returns according to company policies. They are expected to maintain meticulous records of hours of service and complete related administrative tasks. The role requires physical capability to handle freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds with use of equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.
Working at Core-Mark provides drivers with valuable growth opportunities within an essential industry that supports American food distribution. The environment encourages teamwork and dedication, with an emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. This role demands reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding Core-Mark’s standards and values in every aspect of the job. It is an excellent opportunity for experienced CDL-A drivers seeking a supportive company that recognizes their critical contribution to the supply chain and offers competitive benefits and a balanced work schedule.
