This role is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, a crucial position within Core-Mark that supports the country’s food distribution system by ensuring timely and safe delivery of products. Delivery drivers are a vital link in the supply chain, tasked with not only transporting goods but also serving as the face of the company by building and maintaining positive relationships with customers. This employment opportunity is full-time, with a Monday to Friday schedule starting at 4 AM until completion. Drivers can expect to earn between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, reflecting the essential nature of their work and the company’s competitive pay structure.

The Food and Food Service Delivery Driver operates tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including local, intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop delivery routes. They are responsible for adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, and ensuring that all freight is properly loaded, secured, and accounted for. Accuracy and timeliness in delivery are paramount, as is the professional and courteous interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Drivers also handle the necessary documentation related to deliveries, such as invoices, delivery receipts, and daily logs of hours of service.

Safety is a cornerstone of the role, with drivers performing regular checks and reporting any mechanical issues or hazards immediately. The position also involves physical tasks such as hand-lifting products weighing between 10-90 pounds, utilizing equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to manage inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the vehicle and loading dock area. Drivers must be comfortable with occasional overnight stays, typically one to two times per week, to fulfill delivery commitments effectively.
