The role offered is a Delivery Driver position crucial to the success of America’s food supply chain. Delivery drivers at Core-Mark have the essential responsibility of ensuring that food and food-related products are transported and delivered to customers safely, timely, and in excellent condition. This role involves driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes including local, shuttle, overnight, and interstate assignments. Delivery drivers act as key representatives of the company, building strong, lasting relationships with customers through professional communication and dependable service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Minimum 1 year route delivery experience in a CMV
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
  • Product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds depending on location

  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable

  • Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required and follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices of products loaded
  • Complete all required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined delivery routes and schedules
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas and keep trailers clear and clean
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
