Job Description

CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, operating with a commitment to transparency, integrity, and an exceptional customer experience. Established over 30 years ago, the company has transformed the used car buying process by focusing on honesty and innovation. With more than 250 store locations across the United States and a workforce exceeding 30,000 associates, CarMax prides itself on fostering a people-first culture. Recognized as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, CarMax is dedicated not only to its customers but also to its associates and the communities it serves. The company values diversity and inclusion, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

The Fleet Driver role at CarMax, located at Parker, Colorado, is a critical position that goes beyond just transporting vehicles—it supports the entire supply chain that keeps the CarMax operations seamless and efficient. This role is perfect for professionals who prioritize safety, reliability, and integrity in their work. Fleet Drivers are entrusted logistics experts responsible for moving vehicles safely and timely between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs. This role requires a high level of professionalism and responsibility as drivers represent CarMax’s trusted brand when interacting with vendors, colleagues, and the public. The position offers consistent schedules with routes designed so drivers can return home daily, alongside competitive pay ranging between $26.20 and $44.60 per hour.

As a Fleet Driver, you will be expected to maintain high safety standards by conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and CarMax standards. You'll be tasked with operating equipment efficiently while preserving the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck and trailer. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate DOT logs and documentation, operating a 10-speed transmission, and the capacity to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The role may require lifting heavy objects and using winches during the loading process, highlighting the physical nature of the job.

CarMax encourages a safety-first culture and expects drivers to have a spotless driving record with no serious violations in the past three years and no preventable incidents in the past two years. The company offers full-time hourly and commission/incentive-eligible associates benefits including paid sick leave, vacation time, and paid holidays. With CarMax, your work is part of a larger movement to innovate the automotive retail industry, delivering value to customers while upholding a culture of respect and growth. This is not only a driving job—it is a chance to join a respected company where every associate plays a part in driving the future forward.
