US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor operating in the United States, dedicated to providing high-quality food products and exceptional service to its vast network of customers. As one of the largest food distributors in the country, US Foods has built a reputation for reliability, innovation, and a strong commitment to supporting the communities it serves. The company boasts a rich history of promoting from within and offers excellent training programs designed to help employees grow their careers. US Foods emphasizes continuous improvement, safety, and a culture that values integrity and teamwork across all levels of the organization. Their diverse product portfolio includes meats, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods, supporting the foodservice needs of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and more.

The Shuttle Driver role at US Foods is a critical position focused on the safe and efficient transport of tractor trailers loaded with various products between remote dispatch sites. This role offers a stable, rewarding career opportunity with a competitive hourly wage generally around $26.45. Shuttle drivers primarily work Sunday through Thursday from 5 PM to 4 AM, providing consistent nighttime hours that support an optimal work-life balance for many drivers. Beyond basic transportation duties, shuttle drivers may be tasked with related responsibilities such as backhaul or delivery driving, requiring flexibility and a strong work ethic.

Safety is a paramount concern in this role, as drivers are responsible for performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their equipment to ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Physical demands include comfort working in inclement weather and the ability to handle long hours behind the wheel. Registered and compliant with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, which tracks drivers’ drug and alcohol program violations, US Foods drivers maintain high safety and regulatory standards.

This position requires a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements, including a doubles endorsement. Six months of commercial driving experience is required, with experience handling doubles preferred. Drivers must be comfortable with overnight shifts and have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including understanding highway traffic signs and responding to official inquiries. The ability to operate manual transmissions may be required depending on location.

US Foods is committed to the wellbeing of its employees, offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K plans, and a strong safety culture. Drivers are key ambassadors of the company, exemplifying professionalism and reliability as they build trusting relationships with customers. With opportunities for career progression and development, an emphasis on cultural beliefs such as collaboration and service, and a supportive work environment, this role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to make a meaningful impact in the foodservice distribution industry.
