The position of Class A CDL Route Driver based in Nashville, TN at Airgas offers a robust and rewarding career path for experienced drivers. This full-time, Monday through Friday role starts early each morning, allowing the driver to return home daily, which promotes a healthy work-life balance. Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid Class A driver's license
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Must have the Hazmat Endorsement or be able to obtain within 60 days of being hired
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have one year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years
  • Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required
  • Ability to routinely lift or move around 25 - 75 lbs, and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Adherence to safety regulations and policies
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A driver's license

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • One year prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years
  • Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers
  • Ability to routinely lift or move 25 - 75 lbs and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Adherence to safety regulations and policies
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Forklift experience (preferred)
  • Touch freight delivery experience (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders as well as hard goods along designated routes
  • Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures
  • Handle the loading and unloading of all materials
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries
