Our Tampa, Florida terminal is a vital hub in this network, supporting regional freight operations with a strong focus on local and intermodal deliveries.Operating within the thriving Tampa Bay area, Universal Intermodal plays a critical role in facilitating the movement of goods throughout Florida and beyond. We provide our Owner Operator Truck Drivers with a unique opportunity to be home daily while performing key roles serving cities like Orlando, Ocala, Lakeland, Alachua, Plant City, and the Tampa local area. This is a contractor position offering competitive pay, including up to $650 per day for linehaul services and a clear pay schedule from Sunday to Saturday with settlements made on the following Friday. The position emphasizes light touch freight, ensuring an efficient and manageable workload without the stress of forced dispatch. Our drivers benefit from a consistent schedule, with average workdays running from 7am to 4pm, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.This role is perfect for skilled Owner/Operator drivers who value safety, reliability, and steady work. Ideal candidates have experience with tractor trailers, hold a valid CDL A, and maintain a clean driving record compliant with DOT regulations, including operating a 2005 or newer tractor. We seek professionals with demonstrated safe driving habits, no recent DUIs or OWIs, minimal moving violations, and no preventable accidents in the recent past. Additionally, candidates must successfully pass physical and drug screenings along with a criminal background check.Drivers enjoy excellent support, including access to company-owned chassis, a 24-hour road service department, and free on-site parking. The company also offers discounts on fuel at major truck stops, participation in plate and insurance programs, and membership in the U-sav program which extends a range of savings on hotels, vehicle purchases, mobile devices, and various other services. Job Requirements

  • 6 months or more of tractor trailer experience in the last year
  • cdl a
  • at least 21 years of age
  • dot compliant 2005 or newer tractor
  • clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
  • no dui/owi in the last 5 years
  • no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • no more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
  • pass physical/drug screen
  • criminal background check

Job Duties
