Job Description
Forward Intermodal is a leading logistics and transportation company specializing in providing efficient and reliable intermodal services connecting multiple modes of transportation such as truck, rail, and vessel. Based in the La Porte, TX area, Forward Intermodal is recognized for delivering exceptional service to its customers through a blend of state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated fleet of professional drivers. As an integral part of the supply chain, Forward Intermodal continuously strives to streamline freight movement while ensuring safety, sustainability, and driver satisfaction. The company places a strong emphasis on building long-term partnerships with both its employees and clients to foster a progressive and supportive working environment.
Forward Intermodal is currently seeking motivated Class A CDL Owner Operators to join their team for local and regional intermodal routes connecting major ports and customers in the La Porte region. This opportunity offers a great balance of a dependable schedule, competitive weekly pay, and a less stressful work environment compared to typical over-the-road trucking. Owner Operators working with Forward Intermodal can expect an estimated annual earning potential ranging from $145,000 to $234,000, with additional incentives such as a $2,500 sign-on bonus. The compensation structure is designed to reward professionalism, efficiency, and steady commitment.
The role primarily involves transporting freight containers and cargo between ports and distribution centers using company-approved equipment, with schedules targeted to maximize home time for drivers. Regional drivers enjoy a typical Monday to Friday schedule with early morning starts and optional Saturday work, while local drivers operate weekdays from 7 AM to 5 PM, enabling them to be home daily with family and friends. Forward Intermodal prides itself on offering routes with 95% drop and hook freight to minimize waiting times and increase daily productivity.
Beyond competitive pay, Forward Intermodal provides numerous perks to support Owner Operators, including weekly settlements, comprehensive plate and IFTA programs, as well as access to discounted group rates for bobtail, physical damage, and occupational accident insurance policies. By fostering a healthier work-life balance and equipping drivers with the necessary tools and support to succeed, Forward Intermodal positions itself as an employer of choice for experienced Owner Operators seeking steady, well-compensated driving careers in intermodal freight transportation.
